What is NEBBIO?

Nebbio is first of all, an idea.

Nebbio is not just a dream, but it’s an idea that is born from passion and engagement with the soil and the extra virgin olive oil.

The family-run business “La Crocetta” produces olive oil in their own fields in San Casciano dei Bagni from more than 200 years. Nebbio expresses the ambition to improve a product that already exists as an excellence: the special environment of the high hills surrounded by the two valleys, Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana, gives to Nebbio olive oil the special taste of herbal seasoning that not only gifts the palate with fresh sensations but also reproduces the polyphenols magnificent aroma that characterise the olive oil.

Organic

Our olive fields are not artificially fed. They are fertilised exclusively with bovine manure

Mountain

The Italian northern winds keep away from the olives their parasitics and allow them to grow naturally.

Low Acidic Level

The low performance of our olive trees guarantees a low acidic level and a very low presence of peroxides.

Traditional

We harvest in advance our trees to preserve polyphenols and avoid dangerous fermentation processes.

Our olives are never left in the boxes for more than five hours

We work in the fiels three times per year to destroy poisoning grass and prevent the dangers of humidity

A modern pruning: the less we cut, the more the olive trees reach the perfect balance, gaining in productivity

Nebbio’s point of difference

The peculiar climate conditions, the northern winds and the mountain atmosphere, allow our olives to grow parasite-free and consequently, the low performance of our trees guarantees a low acidic product with a very low presence of peroxides. We can claim that Nebbio is an olive oil that comes from the mountains, which means healthy and sensorially unique and satisfying.
